Billericay Town
Seem to be getting a lot of publicity at the moment down there, Konchesky, O'Hara, lot of money being pumped into the club etc.

Can they make it into league football?

I was in the clubhouse a month ago. He'd already started extending the bar by a good 20ft.. And the toilets now wouldn't look out of place in Stringfellows.. Could be Billericays new night out.

Think someone mentioned on here earlier that a town that size couldn't sustain them if they made the football league, but I'd rather go over there than the OS to watch some proper football and I imagine enough people in Essex may feel the same.

They purchased a lot of seats from our west upper too. Not from the club, but from the demolition company.

What so they missed out on that nice display box?? Bet they was gutted about that.... got to admit there are some eye opening stuff going on over Billericay... MATE (an O's fan ) has been going over there last couple of seasons and reckons it's great fun....

Bullard was set to join apparently. But offer withdrawn after he gobbed off.

I recall going to the Dagenham v Woking final 96ish. Nearly everybody was out of their mind on booze and mingro The gentle folk of Woking were horrified by Dagenham supporters and their Zigger Dagger songs

They only lease the ground (from Basildon Council) and have done since 1971. A lot of the local area is due to be developed. The field next to Blunts Wall will be about 80 houses within the next ten years.

When New Lodge becomes an up market housing estate will the new Billericay owner be as well thought of?

Re: Billericay Town
I know nothing of the new owner and he's fair few quid ahead of me so fair play to him - but he couldn't look more Essex gangster if he tried, roided up, Perma tanned, tattoos and I bet he says the word Shunnnn a lot.

Making good noises though, naming a new stand after a disabled kid and installing facilities for disabled kids to go to games. Doing bits for the community.

Who knows what's the real truth but at the moment he's making a positive difference or so it seems.

Re: Billericay Town
Billericay's owner Glenn Tamplin was on the verge of taking over Dagenham & Redbridge at the start of the season. His original offer was accepted, but after fans protesting and a change of mind from the board, Tamplin withdrew his offer.

He then moved onto Billericay Town. Manager Craig Edwards resigned at the start of March, and after seven years in charge, claiming promises weren't being met. Tamplin installed himself as manager.

My local team, Hoddesdon Town, won the first ever FA Vase, I went to Wembley twice in 1975, once for West Ham and once for Hoddesdon Town, 'twas a good year

Why do they hold the record for the most number of relegations out of it then?
